In general, compounding is the practice in which a licenses pharmacist combines, mixes, or alters ingredients of a drug to create a medication tailored to the needs of an individual patient. Sometimes, the health needs of a patient cannot be met by an FDA-approved medication. For example: if a patient has an allergy and needs a medication to be made without a certain dye; or if an elderly patient or a child can’t swallow a pill and needs a medicine in a liquid form that is not otherwise available. Here at Vashan, we are able to compound medications tailored to individuals for various reasons: in need of topical transdermal, oral, vaginal, or rectal compounded medications; hormones; allergenic free compounds; excipients-free compounds; gluten-free compounds; casein-free compounds; combination preparations; individualized/ customized dosing; and prescribers-specific formulations. We are able to accommodate for change of dosage forms, as well as changing the route of administration. Each customer will receive individualized consultation and counseling on each prescription to ensure the compounding of each medication to suit the needs of each patient.
